POSITION OVERVIEW:
Merrimack Manufacturing LLC is seeking a reliable and energetic Material Handler/Driver to support production, inventory, and delivery operations. This role is responsible for the accurate movement, transaction, staging, and control of materials to and from the production floor, as well as the safe and timely delivery of products and materials to customers and other designated locations. The Material Handler ensures inventory is properly received, transacted in the ERP system, and issued to production in alignment with shop orders and demand, while also representing the company professionally during deliveries. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, prioritizes safety and accuracy, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where dependable service and attention to detail are essential.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Receive, verify, move, and transact incoming and outgoing materials in the ERP system to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Issue materials to production, process returns, support kitting, and maintain inventory replenishment systems such as Kanban and Min-Max.
  • Load, unload, sort, stage, label, inspect, and transport materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other appropriate equipment.
  • Verify shipments against packing slips, manifests, work orders, and other documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Deliver materials to production areas and finished goods to customers safely, accurately, and on schedule.
  • Safely operate a box truck or similar commercial vehicle on designated routes while following all traffic, safety, and company requirements.
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain a clean, safe, and well-maintained vehicle.
  • Communicate with dispatch and internal teams regarding delivery status, delays, material discrepancies, and other issues.
  • Perform cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory reconciliations as needed.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and compliant stockroom, staging, warehouse, and vehicle areas.
  • Support warehouse and material handling activities as needed to meet production and shipping requirements.
  • Follow company policies, safety procedures, quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements, including FDA/ISO requirements where applicable.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3–5 years of experience in material handling, inventory control, stockroom, warehouse, manufacturing, or a related environment preferred.
  • Experience with ERP inventory transactions and basic Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with FIFO, Kanban, Min-Max, and other inventory control practices.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate a box truck or similar commercial vehicle.
  • Forklift/pallet jack experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Safety- and quality-focused mindset, with the ability to follow established procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 45 lbs.
EDUCATION:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
